Creaturebox is Savilion, Status (aka Toad-One), Shazbot, and Thoughtbug. The four members originally got their start in separate groups: Shazbot, Toad-One and Thoughtbug as part of Sub-Active and Savilion as part of the Digital Hippies.

Savilion and Thoughtbug were introduced through mutual friends and began recording various tracks together. Thoughtbug soon introduced Savilion to Toad-One and Shazbot, and Creaturebox was born. The group began recording tracks together in Savilion’s Green Walls studio. Their first accumulation of material as a group, The Frantic Hunt for Shade, was released in 2001 on Legendary Entertainment. The album received well-rounded support from listeners, and reviews were also postive. Sales of The Frantic Hunt for Shade reached international audiences as far as Japan and France. No longer in production, their first album is still sought after by people in the underground hiphop community.

Other releases from members of the group include Savilion’s two solo projects, Sound Puzzles and Porch Steez, and a collaborative effort with Thoughtbug entitled Bad Sense of Smell, all released on Legendary Entertainment. Thoughtbug also has released two solo efforts: Enter Society (Legendary Entertainment) and his most current release, 2003’s A Few Suggestions, released by Savilion as his first official release on his newly formed label, Green Walls Music. A Few Suggestions has been generating attention in the Canadian hip hop scene and has also been selling very well online in North America and Japan. Creaturebox also contributed a track to the Hand’Solo Records compilation Bassments of Badmen: Volume 2, which has received a wide array of attention and support around the globe. Creaturebox is also currently working on their newest album with plans for a winter 2005 release on Hand’Solo Records.

Creaturebox strives to bring something different to the hiphop community by not sticking to conventional song patterns and rhyming styles, and also by providing insightful and thought-provoking lyrics. Determined and confident, Creaturebox has proven to be a valuable asset to the Canadian hip hop scene, and continues to produce energetic and creative music together.
