Ottawa Comic Con looks awesome this year! Not only will there be appearances from Firefly’s Summer Glau and Jewel Staite, Star Trek actors Wil Wheaton and Levar Burton, Star Wars actors Billy Dee Williams and David Prouse, and the awesome Felicia Day, but there will also be a hip hop show nerds won’t want to miss. A special nerdcore concert is taking place within the Ottawa Comic Con on Saturday May 11, 2013 @ 8:30 PM, with performances from Backburner’s Wordburglar, More Or Les and Jesse Dangerously, as well as Tribe One and headliner MC Lars.

Also, thanks to the support and sponsorship of The Comic Book Shoppe, THE CONCERT IS FREE to anyone with tickets or a pass applicable for Saturday admission to Ottawa Comic Con 2013 – this includes a Saturday only ticket, a 3-Day Pass or a Deluxe Pass. Please note that there is no VIP seating.

Wordburglar recently took a trip back in time to 1988 with the Time Bandits and returned to discuss on their podcast two true treasures of that year: the movie Ernest Saves Christmas and Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s classic album He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper. Joe, you’ll love Wordburglar’s Welcome To Cobra Island, an action-adventure escapist fantasy epic inspired by the paramilitary fiction of Larry Hama, Mike Costa, Buzz Dixon, Flint Dille, Christy Marx and Steve Gerber (to name a few).
