hey what's good Canada... K-FLiP here... been doing the Sound Foundation for a while now... and I'm always on the hunt 4 new tracks to play... I don't have Serato yet... but I've been running alot more mp3's latley on the show... now that's it's gone on-line & off the college radio radar... meaning no more censorship.. the guy who runs www.alwaysfreshmag.com really doesn't care what I do with the show.. example.. I've been sick for alot of Febuary.. so there was no Febuary show... I'm feelin about 87% better... so this month I'mma have a whole wack of guests to make up for no show last month... if you wanna submit some tunes you can hit me up @ perverteddigger@gmail.com if it's up to 25 megs... if it's under 10 megs you can hit me up at djkflip@alwaysfreshmag.com
I also have to put together a mixtape to raise some funds 4 ArtFest this year.. to be able to bring some artists down 4 a show on the Illumiaqua stage on the canal here in Welland... we have permission to use the stage... just need to raise some funds to bring people down.. also if anyone wants to volunteer to perform... send your requests to bigdaddydef@alwaysfreshmag.com he's the assistant chair on the ArtFest committee... and if you'd grant me permission to run the track for the mixtape.. let me know in the e-mail... I may not use everything I receive.. but the more I can select from without being sued... the better...

P.S. big ups to Hand Solo records for all the support with the show over the years... I kinda wish I didn't do a giveaway with my extra copy of the Crystal Senate/Moka Only Ow 12"/EP & the Wildlife 12".. but I'm sure they went into good hands... so sall is good still...

Thanks for dropping by the Hand'Solo board... Hopefully some people have taken advantage of this offer...
I have also felt like you many times, wishing I had kept a few more copies of the Buck 65 and Sixtoo/Moka Only 12-inches...

peep the remix show... which was supposed to be the April edition.. but the featured guest couldn't make it.. so i open'd up the remix show idea to anyone who wanted to submit.. and i got some dope submissions... also on a side note.. if the accapella's aren't 100% on-beat... chances are it's me to blame & not the producers.. cause alot of the remix's were just beats submitted 4 the remix show... just wanted to say quickly thanks to all those who contributed & all those who have checked out & supported the show... it's mad appreciated... here's the link to the remix show...

Also: there will be a production battle announced on this months (June) show.. and there will be 2 sample packs to DL.. one drums.. the other random sounds & a couple tracks.. and some snippets of some tunes also... only rule is you can't use anything other than what is in the sample packs.. there is alot of drums to choose from.. so you can phatten up your kicks & snares by layering with what's in the packs.. no need to cheat... you can use whatever you'd like to sample them in... cut em in with serato.. run em threw your mpc, sp950... or use whatever software you have available.. all i ask is that you strictly use what's in the sample packs... that's the only thing i'm personally judging.. if i hear something that wasn't in the pack.. i'll let you know b4 the July 10th show.. when an out of town crew is going to be on the show & judging the actual battle... i'm not a judge.. so there will be no bias's... hense why I'm not even naming the crew who's judging... and so far for prizes i've got cd's from the shottas, apos, noah 23, neferiu records, possibly def 3 & also the messenger.. who is also offering to put out an ep with the winner & give it some distribution for you free of charge.. and will also give you 25-50 copies of it to do what you'd like with...
on a related note... I'm still looking for more albums to give away to the winner.. so if you'd like to help out & support.. get at me @ djkflip@alwaysfreshmag.com & let me know what you'd like to submit & i'll get @ you with some more info.. also if your interested in entering get @ me @ the same address.. and when the June show airs... i'll also forward you the links for the sample packs... thanks 4 your time & lets hope this rain goes away & we can get back to the nice weather we've been having lately... peace & respect!!!

What's good Canada... I'm sure alot of you out there don't know who I am or what I do... that's ok.. I like to do my thing on the low... but this isn't about me.. it's about showcasing your production skills... i don't have clearance to use any of the samples in the sample packs.. and the battle is for promotional use only to show your abilities... so if you use them for anything other than this production battle showcase I basically take no responsibility for your actions.. (yadda yadda... gotta cover your ass these days...)
The Breakdown: Only rule is.. you can only use samples from the 2 sample packs, you can use whatever you like to put the beat together.. scratch it in with serato, thump it out on your mpc... or put it in your s950 & stretch it... or use whatever software you see fit.. ableton live, pro-tools.. whatever you do.. do you.. and i'm limiting submissions to up to 2 different beats per artist.. the length being judged is the first 2 minutes... that's it... deadline is midnight Friday July 9th, 2010 and will be judged by a crew coming thru to do the show on July 10th, 2010 from out of town.. all beats will be label'd beat 1, beat 2, etc... so there will be no bias's... the only person who will know who sent what will be me.. and i'm not judging... i'll announce who did which beats after the winner is declared...
The Prizes: The Messenger from 1812 Recordings in Toronto is willing to put an EP with the winner & handle distribution and you get 25-50 copies that you can do whatever you'd like to do with.. use them as a promotional tool.. or sell them.. or hit up cats like me to run them... stack em up to replace a missing turntable leg... whatever's cleaver... also... I've scoured the lands in search of some music as part of the prize for the winners and the following artists are submitting copies of their albums as part of the prize 4 the winner.. the messenger - no soliciting, noah23 - rock paper scissors, diamond minds - the triforce, as well as albums from the mighty apos, def3, icon the mic king, & neferiu records, and last but not least.. definitely not least.. cause it's a sick sick album... the shottas - i am the v.. winner gets 2 copies.. 2nd place gets a copy & so does 3rd place.. and i'm also waiting to hear back from a few other artists.. so there may be some more also.. and if your an artist & want to donate a copy of your album as part of the prize.. you can holla @ perverteddigger@gmail.com
The Sample Packs: these 2 links are only good till July 3rd... after that people will have to check the show description @ http://www.mixcloud.com/soundfoundation ... june-2010/ for the new links.. and if these don't work if they could e-mail me directly @ perverteddigger@gmail.com for the new links.. cause they are only good for 100 Downloads or 7 days.. so it might change a few times... depending on activity.. but it will change 4 sure on July 3rd...
