Much love to Mu6ix Cafe for their coverage of Noah23 x Fresh Kils’s new video for their first single, “Million Dollar Deal”, from their new album, Tuff Racket.
I just learned that Tabs Out Cassette Podcast reviewed the artwork (spoiler alert: they loved it!) and played a few tracks from Pasquale’s Specials 2 as their first tape of the night. It’s always great to get some coverage and play from Tabs Out! Give the show a listen here.
The first single from Noah23 x Fresh Kils’ Tuff Racket finally gets an official video. You better watch it before Hasbro pulls it.
“Million Dollar Deal” is the lead single off Tuff Racket, the collaboration album by Canadian hip hop staples Noah23 & producer Fresh Kils. The track is reminiscent of Outkast with its electric guitar, bounce beat, and intelligent triplet flow. The 6/8 time signature also provides the single a unique feel to the flow. With its creativity and unmatched technical prowess, “Million Dollar Deal” proves how powerful a duo these two are. And now the single gets a video shot and edited by Nic Bambrough (www.bamnation.ca) focused on the capitalist board game that has caused many a family fight.
Written and performed by Noah23 Produced by Fresh Kils
Join Hand’Solo Records for our September album retrospective celebrating our 30th Anniversary. This month we’re listening to Touch’s Journey to the West, his hip hop-inspired re-telling of the story of Sun Wukong aka The Monkey King, released in 2017. If you like concept albums, Chinese mythology, or great storytelling in your hip hop, this is a listening party you will enjoy. Come and listen with us. I hope to see you in the chat. RSVP here.
Our signature compilation series, Bassments of Badmen, returns with volume 4 as part of the 30th Anniversary celebrations of Hand’Solo Records. The album drops at midnight on September 25, but I hope you will join us for an early listening party on September 20 at 8 PM EDT as we play through these 21 songs of mostly posse cuts and collaborations from MCs, DJs, and producers down with the label, plus a few new names added to the mix. This is an album I’m very proud of having curated, and I think if you are a fan of the label that you will enjoy it, too. I hope to see you in the chat. RSVP now!
