Max Moon is an indie hip hop artist from Sudbury, ON, perhaps best known for his vocal and production work as a member of horrorcore trio Magick Show. This summer he releases his debut solo record, The Grand Howl, demonstrating a whole other side to his sound.He approaches the art form in a way that reflects his Northern roots, his diverse influences, and his desire to make art with a unique impact. Though often abstract, there is a weight of imagery to Max Moon’s raps—one that leaves the listener curious for more. Approaching the music like some kind of bizarre bard, he blends barstool poetry and raw rap sensibility. Instead of trying to insert himself into someone else’s domain, Max Moon welcomes you into his strange new world.
