Soundscan Venue Report Form

Soundscan records music sales of songs and albums. These are the numbers used by FACTOR when determining certain grant allocations. After scanning 2000 copies sold, it becomes possible to receive FACTOR grants in the amount of $20,000 or more. That’s big money. And it’s FREE. And all we have to do is scan 2000 copies sold. By simply filling out and submitting the form below, we can work towards access of that money for future releaes for both the artists and the label. Let’s work together to access that FREE MONEY!

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the Soundscan Venue Report Form from the link.

2. Have the venue representative fill out the bottom portion of the form: their name, email, phone number and signature. They should also fill out or provide the venue capacity, which needs to be filled in on the top section. The venue rep could also fill out the rest of the information for the top section, including venue name and location. Or I can fill it out later.

3. Please scan and email (handsolo[at]primus[dot]ca) the form back to me ASAP. All forms for the previous week must be submitted to Soundscan by that Thursday afternoon if they are to count. It is important to send them to me right away so I can get them in on time. THEY MUST BE SENT IN EVERY WEEK FOR THAT WEEK. You can include the sales numbers and sale price on the form or include that info in the email you send with this filled out form attached. And if it’s not included on the form, please also include in your email to me the name of the venue, the capacity of the venue, the date of the show, and the number of copies sold.

PLEASE NOTE: This form is only supposed to include sales for CDs sold at shows. Copies are being sold by hand but not at shows and I would like to make sure they count. In that regard, I would like to add some of those into the show sales. When filling out the form, if you do increase the numbers from what was actually sold at the show to include some CDs sold by hand outside of the live show dynamic please let me know in the email how many you added so that we don’t get into ridiculously inflated numbers overall.
